Job Description

MAU is hiring an Events Assistant in Augusta, GA. As an Events Assistant, you will support event operations by assisting before, during, and after venue events to ensure a smooth and professional experience for guests and clients.

Shift Information
  • Part-time, as needed
  • Hours dependent on rental schedules
  • May work more than 10 hours per shift as needed
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong multitasking skills
  • Experience in venue management, events, or catering preferred
  • Customer service experience, especially in high-pressure environments
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Prior experience in event coordination, venue operations, or hospitality
  • Ability to handle difficult or upset clients in a calm and professional manner

Essential Functions
  • Open venue and greet vendors and renters
  • Enforce venue rules and guidelines
  • Perform light maintenance duties (e.g., changing lightbulbs, unclogging toilets)
  • Clean restrooms, kitchens, floors, and event spaces
  • Set up and take down tables and chairs indoors and outdoors
  • Operate and monitor handicap lift
  • Perform facility walk-throughs and secure venue post-event
  • Occasionally take full responsibility for events in absence of Events Coordinator
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift 25–50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 12 hours and climb stairs multiple times daily
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required for event setup and venue maintenance
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed during events
