LaSalle Network is hiring a Senior HR Generalist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a leading organization based in Evanston, IL! This is a key position for an HR professional eager to make an immediate impact within a unionized environment.

The Senior HR Generalist will take the lead in managing employee relations, developing HR processes, and partnering with leadership to foster a culture of trust and collaboration. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, people-first setting and enjoys taking ownership of initiatives that directly impact an organization’s workforce.

What’s the job?

• Manage employee relations, grievances, and investigations for a union workforce (80% covered by a collective bargaining agreement)
• Administer leave programs including FMLA, ADA, and unpaid leave
• Partner closely with hiring managers to oversee full-cycle recruitment across departments
• Leverage HRIS and ATS for HR operations and reporting
• Collaborate with leadership to develop and improve HR policies and procedures
• Build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organization

What’s needed?

• 5+ years of HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience
• Union experience is required
• Strong background in employee relations and leave administration
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt and thrive in an environment without established SOPs
