Job Description

Insurance Specialist

Compensation: $55,000 – $65,000

Location : Slater, Iowa

Position Overview

The Insurance Specialist is a key member of the operations team responsible for supporting and managing all aspects of the insurance process. This role focuses on efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail—ensuring that client insurance requests are processed smoothly and delivered in a timely manner. The position is operations-focused , not client-facing, and requires a strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track all stages of the insurance process from application to policy delivery

  • Schedule and manage medical exams for applicants

  • Prepare and submit insurance applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate

  • Serve as the primary liaison with underwriters and monitor the underwriting process to ensure timely completion

  • Manage internal and external communication related to insurance servicing

  • Collect and organize outstanding reports or documents related to active policies

  • Oversee policy delivery and verify that all requirements are satisfied prior to issuance

  • Generate and review insurance illustrations for accuracy and client suitability

  • Maintain precise and up-to-date records within internal systems and databases

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an insurance operations or administrative role

  • Iowa Life and Health License required within the first 3 months of employment

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems

  • Highly motivated, professional, and team-oriented with a commitment to serving clients and supporting internal teams
