Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring cleanliness, sterilization, and appropriate equipment setup
• Assist surgeons during operations and anticipate their needs through all phases of surgery
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond promptly to emergencies
• Ensure strict adherence to aseptic and sterile protocols
• Serve as patient advocate, ensuring comfort, safety, and confidentiality
• Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams for smooth procedure flow
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and procedures
• Provide pre- and post-operative care and education to patients and their families
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development activities
• Uphold compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and code of ethics

Qualifications

• Valid and current RN license
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Prior experience as an Operating Room Nurse or similar surgical nursing role
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Knowledge of perioperative nursing protocols and best practices
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina
• Occasional lifting of patients or surgical equipment
