We are looking for a Strings Assistant Teacher to join our 5th-8th grade Orchestra program in September of 2025 for six hours per week and to teach a fourth grade class of mostly beginning string players for two hours per week. The Assistant Teacher's duties will include providing individual or small group instruction to new and developing students, developing student support plans in consultation with the Lead Strings Teacher, and reintegrating new and developing students into the class orchestra. The Assistant Teacher will work under the supervision of the Lead Strings Teacher to ensure that all students in the Orchestra program have a joyful and interactive experience in ensemble music making.
Experience/Requirements
Experience working in a school environment
Enjoy working with middle school students
Be able to read bass and treble clef
Have experience playing string instruments, preferably violin.
Have familiarity with cello, viola or bass.
Have experience giving individual instrumental lessons
Demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to diversity and multiculturalism in education
